The local area around Dean Steep & Devon
Wild and rugged round Hartland Point, then stretching out into wide, surf-washed sandy bays - explore one of the world’s loveliest coastlines when you stay at Hoseasons holiday parks in North Devon. Surfers and sailors flock to Woolacombe, Saunton, Croyde and Ilfracombe, and windsurfing, water skiing, canoeing and diving are all popular on this coast too, while walkers are attracted to the spectacular views along the coastal path. It’s also a working coast, and fishermen still bring their catches into harbours at Bideford and the enchanting villages of Appledore and Clovelly, whose whitewashed cottages seem to tumble down steep cobbled lanes to ancient quaysides. And when planning holidays in North Devon, don’t miss a chance to take a boat trip to Lundy Island, a beautiful haven for wildlife.

"The bungalow we stayed in was spotless, extremely well equipped with everything that you may need and the views were spectacular. It was fairly compact, but fine for us - with two adults and a large dog. The information provided by the owners, in the form of leaflets, printouts, booklets etc, was wide ranging and with places of interest to suit every possible taste - they clearly took time to collect information and provide recommendations. The setting was peaceful and relaxed with excellent facilities for our dog, who was made very welcome, with vast fields right next to the bungalows that she was able to run freely in. The owners were really helpful and friendly, making time to welcome us and provide any information that we requested. There was also tea and coffee provided for our arrival making it very welcoming after a long journey. We would definitely like to visit again and would recommend this holiday to anyone."

Hartland Lodge 59 in Bideford. Woolsery is an attractive village, set within the unspoiled rolling North Devon countryside. The village is bordered by wonderful coastlines and country walks, and its history can be traced back to before the Domesday Book. The heart of the village was built around its Norman Church and there are many small festivals and fairs throughout the year, including the ‘Woolsery Show’, which has been established since the 1800’s. Woolsery is also famous for its cheese. A trip to the local dairy will show you cheeses handmade using traditional methods using fresh goat’s and cow’s milk to produce a range of cheeses, from soft through to hard. Woolsery village is within easy reach of the sandy beaches of Westward Ho and the fishing village of Instow and Appledore. Nearby, you can also visit Clovelly with its steep cobbled streets and Hartland & Stoke with their Abbey and church, whilst surf-enthusiasts will appreciate the well-known surfing centre of Bude..
